     Why seek Counselling?
Counselling is about us together exploring which obstacles stand in the way for you of being where you want to be. It is about processing what you are experiencing and helping you to make your decisions to live a more fulfilling life.

Integrative Counselling means that we draw on a variety of therapeutic models in the counselling process, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Client-Centred Therapy and Transactional Analysis.

        Why seek Trauma Therapy?
Many people experience trauma at some point in their lives. Trauma is defined as “a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.” Trauma is an experience that can change people’s lives, and the way they view the world. Trauma could be a car accident, a burglary, a sudden bereavement, a physical injury, an experience of violence, or any other threat to your physical or emotional safety.
If you think you have experienced a trauma, you might struggle with:
* Re-living the experience (flashbacks, nightmares, reoccurring thoughts orimages, etc.)
* Avoidance or feelings of numbing (of situations, places, people, thinking or talking about it)
* Heightened alertness (feeling ‘on edge’, getting angry quickly, concentration difficulties)

* Negative views of yourself or the world around you
Within the sessions we can work on techniques to diminish your flashbacks and nightmares, challenge the things that you might be avoiding and regain a sense of control of your life, thoughts or feelings. The sessions will go in your pace and we will only address things you feel ready for.
