Counselling, Trauma Therapy & Supervision

About us:
Born and raised in the Netherlands, I started a four-year Bachelor's Degree to become a teacher of primary education. Though I enjoyed teaching children, I felt as though the system neglected to look after the most vulnerable in society. I therefore chose to complete a four-year Bachelor's Degree at the Hogeschool Utrecht in the Netherlands, which resulted in resulted in becoming a registered Counsellor/ Social Worker. Afterwards I completed several Diploma's in Counselling and Therapy. My core training focused on integrative counselling, consisting of Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Trauma-Focused work.

For over 11 years I have specialised in working with trauma. Working for Victim Support I have worked with  survivors of physical and sexual violence, traffics accidents, burglaries, and many other forms of trauma. Working for a General Counselling Department in the Netherlands, I was the lead for all domestic violence cases in the area. After my immigration to England, I have provided for four years one-to-one counselling to survivors of sexual abuse. I have created and run various therapeutic trauma groups. In addition I currently work with victims of human trafficking who have often gone through extensive trauma and bereavement.

My qualifications are:
2006 - Bachelor's Degree Teaching Primary Education
2009 - Bachelor's Degree Counselling/ Social Work
2017 - Diploma Therapeutic Counselling
2017 - Certificate Counselling Supervision
2018 - Diploma Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
